Prerelease celebrates the launch of a new set and is your first opportunity to explore what the set has to offer. open a Prerelease Pack, build a 40-card Sealed deck, and play with the set for the first time in a casual and fun environment.

College Options

Players choose one of the five Strixhaven colleges, which influences the seeded booster and adds identity to the event:
  • Lorehold (Red-White): Graveyard and Spirit synergies
  • Quandrix (Blue-Green): Ramp and +1/+1 counters
  • Silverquill (Black-White): Midrange and goad mechanics
  • Prismari (Red-Blue): Big spells and Elemental generation
  • Witherbloom (Black-Green): Sacrifice and life gain/drain strategies

Prerelease Pack Contents

Each pack includes:
  • 5 Play Boosters (14 cards each, including 1–5 rares or mythics)
  • 1 Seeded Booster (14 college-aligned cards, including 1 foil rare or mythic)
  • 1 Traditional Foil card
  • Oversized Spindown™ life counter
  • Stamped promo card from the set
  • Possible inclusion of Mystical Archive cards, with one guaranteed per booster
